ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A 15-year-old girl died Monday after a boy unintentionally shot her, police said.
The girl who died as was identified Tuesday night as Kho'Mori McGee. She lived in the 1000 block of Starshire Court in the Spanish Lake area.
A 14-year-old boy was taken into police custody and is being held at the St. Louis County Family Court.Â
Vera Clay, a spokeswoman for county police, said charges against the boy have yet to be determined but the family court "found sufficient cause to detain him."
Police didn't identify him.
Kho'Mori died Monday afternoon at the scene of a shooting in the 10900 block of John James Drive. Police have not said where the teens got the gun or how the shooting happened.
Clay said investigators believe the shooting was "unintentional."
