Job loss. New baby. New marriage. New house.
Darren Wilson has experienced all of the above during the year since he fatally shot Michael Brown. Some of it publicly, most of it intensely privately after he and his family received multiple death threats.
Wilson, through his attorneys, declined to comment.Â
During the first three months of the grand jury investigation, Wilson maintained a low profile. He and his then fiance and former training officer, Barbara Spradling, got married at the county courthouse.
Wilson resigned from the Ferguson Police Department in November, the night the grand jury voted not to indict him. His wife gave birth to their first child in March. Spradling, who has two other children, resigned from the department April 30.
The couple has moved into a new house in the St. Louis area, and Wilson has surfaced at sporting events, police functions and fundraisers. He worked for a short time at a shoe store. He applied for a job at another law enforcement agency in the region but was not hired.
