Yuri Collins is moving up to the NBA.
The St. Louis native who attended St. Mary's High and St. Louis University was called up to the Golden State Warriors from the G League, signing a 10-day contract Wednesday.
Collins, who stands 6-foot and turns 24 next month, spent the past two seasons in the NBA G League.
Collins ranks second in the G League at 10.5 assists per game in 18 games in the regular season for the Santa Cruz Warriors this season. He averages 16.2 points per game.
As a senior at SLU in 2022-23, he led the NCAA in assists (324) and assists per game (10.1), the second straight year he did so.
Golden State (28-27) was in need of depth after it shipped out four players to acquire Jimmy Butler earlier this month at the trade deadline. Kevin Knox II also came up from the G League alongside Collins.

Collins joins fellow former SLU and St. Louis-area native Jordan Goodwin, who was recently called up to the Lakers. It's the first time SLU has had more than one former player on active NBA rosters in more than 50 years. In 1968-69, Bob Ferry played seven games with Baltimore, Rich Niemann played 34 games for Detroit and Milwaukee and Barry Orms played 64 games with Baltimore. At the same time, SLU had two former players in the ABA, Gene Moore with Kentucky and Don Dee with Indiana.Â
