As a former scribe, the Old Sport is in awe of ball-writer Derrick Gooldâs ability (Oct. 23) to translate the gobbledygook behind the Cardinalsâ addition of approximately 413 front-office personnel ("Cardinalsâ new hires, roles a sign of âchangeâ within franchise â with more to come," Oct. 23), as well as the teamâs decision to combine oversight of a playerâs âperformance curriculumâ and his âplaying curriculum,â as well as the inspired decision to require minor league pitchers to throw several innings at a time.
