ST. PETERS — A 4-year-old boy riding on a motorcycle with a man has died in a crash.
The St. Peters Police Department reported the crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday on westbound Mexico Road near the Belleau Creak intersection.
The motorcycle struck a utility pole and two people were thrown off the vehicle, police said.Â
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man and boy with serious injuries.Â
Authorities identified the boy as Calvin Spurlock.
Both riders were taken to a hospital, where Calvin was pronounced dead. The man's injuries were critical but not life-threatening. Authorities did not name him, but said he was a family friend of the boy's.Â
Both were wearing helmets, police said.
