Jimmy Baseball doesn’t live in a baseball home.
There are only a few signs in Jim Edmonds’ new sprawling Frontenac home of the former Cardinal’s career as one of baseball’s great center fielders. There are the eight Gold Glove awards lining the top shelves of his study and a pair of small bobbleheads in a massive closet, and that’s about it, so far.

Edmonds and his children moved into the nearly 20,000-square-foot house in December. While trying to set up their new home, Edmonds has been going through a bitter divorce with his third wife, Meghan King, a St. Louisan who previously starred in “The Real Housewives of Orange County.†The split has been publicly contentious since last fall with scandalous accusations and a contested prenuptial agreement.

Edmonds’ new home combines floor plans from his previous house in Creve Couer and one he lived in Califronia.
Edmonds, 50, gave us a tour of his new digs and talked about trying to create a home that brings together his seven children from all three marriages. Two are grown, and he shares custody of five kids — a 14-year-old son, 11-year-old daughter, 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old twin boys, all of whom are born and raised in St. Louis.

Edmonds has kept a house in the St. Louis area for the past 20 years, and his younger children attend school here. He said he had been looking for a property to build a house for several years. When this three-acre lot went on the market, he snatched up the land for $1.1 million. It took about two years to build a dream home that combines floor plans from his previous house in Creve Coeur and one he lived in in California. The estate is loaded with kid-friendly amenities — a batting cage, workout gym and two-lane bowling alley in the basement, a basketball court, pool and a playroom with Dutch doors, so an adult can keep an eye on the twins while they play.
Most of the baseball memorabilia is still packed in boxes in storage, he said.

A full-size batting cage with a pitching machine is one of many kid-friendly amenities.
“It’s not fully decorated yet,†Edmonds explained, as he gave us the tour. “You can see this is a disaster,†he said, gesturing toward a pile of boxes in the corner of his study. The house has six bedrooms, an apartment above the garage, nine bathrooms and three laundry rooms.
The only space he says they went crazy with is the enormous closet that wraps around the master bedroom suite.
“My closet is bigger than the house I grew up in,†he said. He’s grateful that they were able to move before the pandemic because the space and activities in the house keeps everyone busy.
“Right now I’m as good as I can be with everything going on,†he said. “I have an amazing new girlfriend, and she’s changed my life.â€
His new girlfriend, Kortnie O’Connor, a 35-year-old model and real estate agent from LA, said the pandemic accelerated her decision to move in with Edmonds. She had been traveling back and forth earlier in the year, but when places started shutting down, it didn’t feel safe to travel as much. She moved in in March.
It was an adjustment from living by herself to a house full of children, especially since the decorating is still a work in progress, she said. “We’re going to designate one thing per month, and do it that way because it’s overwhelming,†she said.

The walk-in closet in Edmonds’ home wraps around the master suite. “My closet is bigger than the house I grew up in,†he said.
Some of the furniture he wants is still in his previous house, where King lives.
“I’m kind of starting over a little bit,†he said.
Edmonds gets excited when he talks about his plans to put in a turf field outside. He is aiming to make his home as kid-friendly as possible. He created a physical therapy space in the basement for his 2-year-old son, Hart, who has minor periventricular leukomalacia, a type of brain injury that can cause muscle rigidity, delayed physical milestones, joint stiffness and weakness in his lower back. He beams when talking about the progress Hart has made and that his other 2-year-old son, Hayes, is already hitting baseballs off the tee.
Edmonds says it’s a fine line between wanting to protect his family’s privacy while being a public figure and having opened up their lives on the Bravo reality show. He says he doesn’t regret his time on the show, which often didn’t portray him favorably.
“It wasn’t really reality,†he said. “It was the perception of it.â€
He posts on his Instagram account, @JimEdmonds15, where he has described his marriage to King as “loveless and abusive.†In her new podcast, Intimate Knowledge, King talked frankly about allegations of his infidelity during their marriage.
Now, he’s hoping to put those scandals and acrimony behind him as he settles into a new relationship in his new home — both which were a long time coming.
“It all worked out in the end, and it was worth the wait.â€
