Esco Technologies Chief Executive Victor Richey got a bigger bonus last year, boosting his total pay 20 percent to $3.77 million.
Richey's salary was flat at $824,500 in fiscal 2018, which ended Sept. 30, but his bonus rose 84 percent to $1.2 million. Esco exceeded targets for both earnings and cash flow, the company's says.
Richey also received $1.6 million in stock, which vests in five years but can be accelerated if Esco's share price hits certain levels. He also got $52,421 worth of perquisites, including a car allowance, financial planning services, life insurance and club dues, plus $16,601 to pay taxes on some of the perquisites.
Richey's pay amounted to 63 times what the median Esco employee earns. The company calculated median pay for its 3,058 employees at $59,316.

Esco, a Ladue-based manufacturer of industrial products, boosted earnings per share by 26 percent in fiscal 2018, excluding unusual items, and its share price rose 14 percent.
