CLAYTON — A St. Louis County Council hearing set for Tuesday was canceled after the chief of the region’s tourism bureau announced her retirement last week.
Council members intended to question Kathleen “Kitty†Ratcliffe and other St. Louis convention center officials about the problems with the expansion. The hearing was scheduled amid growing concerns about management of the downtown convention center expansion and the project’s cost overruns.
Republican Councilman Mark Harder, of Ballwin, asked for the meeting in March. He said he hopes to reschedule the meeting for after “Ms. Ratcliffe is gone.†She retires Aug. 31.
