A pizza chain with local ties has plans to open location in the cityâs Southampton neighborhood.
According to city records, the owner of 5200 Hampton Avenue received a $450,000 building permit this month to make interior renovations for a restaurant:Â Deweyâs Pizza.Â
Deweyâs Pizza also applied for a conditional use permit to operate at that address. The permit will be discussed at a hearing on Oct. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
If greenlit, the Southampton restaurant will become the eighth Deweyâs Pizza in the St. Louis region. Other locations can be found in University City, Webster Groves, St. Charles, Kirkwood and Ellisville.
Deweyâs Pizza sells pizzas, calzones and salads. It was founded by Andrew DeWitt, son of St. Louis Cardinals Chairman William DeWitt Jr., and is based in Ohio. The chain has about two dozen locations across Ohio and Missouri.
